Simplification of Consular Certification Materials for Import Health Food Registration and Filing Applications

Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation issued the Announcement on Simplifying Consular Certification Materials for Registration and Filing Applications of Imported Health Food (hereinafter referred to as the Announcement), which requires the simplification of consular certification materials for registration and filing applications of imported health food.



The Announcement points out that the Convention on the Cancellation of Certification Requirements for Foreign Official Documents (hereinafter referred to as the Convention) has come into effect in China. The qualification certificates of foreign manufacturers, marketing and sales certificates, quality management system certificates of production enterprises, and power of attorney (agreements) involved in the registration and filing of imported health food shall be implemented in accordance with the following requirements: for the above-mentioned documents issued by the contracting countries of the Convention, only the additional certificate of that country needs to be obtained, and there is no need to apply for consular certification from that country and the Chinese embassy or consulate in the local area, except for those indicated as not applicable in the notes on the list of contracting countries of the Convention published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
